To Encourage High Professional Standards

  • All members to use a code of conduct
  • Members should not enter pupils for test too early (allowing for waiting time)
  • Members to give lessons on time, in a clean, suitable car, in professional attire
  • Members are encouraged to 'swap' mock tests

To Establish Good Public Relations

  • All members to inform pupils they are a member of the association
  • All members cars to display a window sticker
  • All members to consider using the association in their own publicity
  • Media contacts with Newspapers / Radio / Television
  • Corporate Advertising in Yellow Pages / Newspapers / Alternative Media
  • Communications with Car Dealers
  • Charitable Events

To Provide Training Opportunities (for Members)

  • Visiting Speakers (E.g. Motorway Police)
  • Visits to relevant places (e.g. Cardington or Motorway Traffic Control Centres
  • Internally generated / Mock part 1 / job based quizzes / industry updates / Business Skills / Lesson Pricing
  • Advanced Driving Support / Education
  • Distribute Communications regarding External Courses
  • Motorcycle of HGV/PCV Courses
  • NVQ certifications

To Maintain Contact with Other Related Organisations

  • Affiliation to the MSA
  • Committee representative(s) to attend regional MSA Meetings
  • Committee representative(s) to attend regional MSA A.G.M's
  • Committee representative(s) to attend other seminars and distribute and communicate findings
  • Links with Other Local Driving Instructor Association's e.g. Birmingham and Redditch
  • Links with Solihull Council Road Safety Department
  • Driving Standards Agency (DSA) representatives (Locally and Nationally)
  • Liaise with Police and other Road enforcement agencies
  • Posters / leaflets at Test Centers
  • Council Engineers Departments at Solihull and Birmingham

To Raise the Standard of Driver Education in the Interests of Road Safety

  • Members to consider providing Motorway tuition
  • Members to consider providing extra parking tuition
  • Members to consider providing advance training
  • Members to always maintain a high standard of personal driving
  • Members and the Committee to seek other opportunities of communication with other Organisations

To Provide a Services to its Members

  • Provision of a Membership Package
  • Sales of Books, Videos and other learning aids or general resources
  • Loan of Documents (e.g. HMSO Traffic Acts)
  • Association Discounts (e.g. Insurance / Printing)
  • Links with Car Dealers for Discounts
  • Links to Other Professional Support Services (e.g. Accountants)

To Encourage Social Contact

  • Coffee breaks at meetings
  • Day outings with family / other ADI's or alternative Organisations
  • Association Christmas Meal
  • Competition e.g. Photo / Joke submissions

To Raise Member's Standards of Living

  • To inform and discuss lesson pricing
  • To publicise other ways of raising funds
  • To encourage and co-operate with inter-trading within the association
  • Comparisons with Other Professions

To Provide a benevolent Services to Members

  • Practical help to members in difficulties
  • Exchange useful information
